Swimming in Forrest

This is where we will talk about all things Forrest: cycling, swimming, sitting by the fire, eating good food.

There’s a beautiful swimming spot we discovered at Forrest this summer, but it’s a little under wraps and known mostly to locals.

We discovered that you don’t have to go to Apollo Bay or Lorne or anywhere else along the Great Ocean Road to get a decent swim, unless you want surf and salt water and … well, ¬†crowds.

We managed to fit in about four or five swims there while we stayed, in crystal waters overlooking thick eucalypt and I guess rainforest of the Otways. There are a couple of high banks where you can do ‘Geronimo!’ leaps into the water,

Forrest can get humid, cold, baking hot … all in one day! A bit like Melbourne, but you have the added benefit of the forest all around you and a beautiful place to escape and swim, within an easy bike ride of the centre of town.

We’ll be going back, that’s for sure, and with our special rate over February of only $150 per night, we better make our booking soon!
